Professional Profile
Dr Nicholas Ignatenko graduated from UNSW at St Vincent's Hospital in 1990. After completing a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene in London in 1994, he worked as Regional Coordinator of Tuberculosis Programmes in Russia for a British aid organisation, MERLIN.
He commenced anaesthesia training in 1997 at St Vincent's Hospital, before returning to London for fellowships in cardiothoracic anaesthesia at Royal Brompton Hospital and neuro-anaesthesia at Atkinson-Morley Hospital.
Dr Ignatenko has been a Consultant Anaesthetist since 2003. He undertook a sabbatical to Princess Marina Hospital, Gaborone, Botswana in 2016. He is currently Head of Department of Anaesthesia at St Vincent's Private Hospital.
